Author Bio:

Wes Parham MBA Ph.D. is a higher education professional and Director of Training at WEEW Consulting. He is a national speaker in the areas of student development, organizational innovation, and organizational leadership. With his unique mix of social commentary, humor, and scholarship Wes has presented to thousands of students, professionals, and individuals and has established him as a dynamic voice in today's culture.

He has a true passion for individual empowerment, personal growth, and creative leadership. His professional experiences include positions as a project manager, student life coach, academic advisor, recruiter, scholarship coordinator, consultant, admissions director and more. His newest area of emphasis is on the intersection of selective exposure theory, millennials, and haters. Wes hopes to challenge, grow, and entertain the next generation of students, professionals, and leaders.

Wes earned a Bachelor's degree in communication and an MBA with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational change from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He earned his PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.

With “50 States 50 Books”, the Gordon family is on a mission to close the literacy gap

 

Concerned about the lack of diversity in children’s books, Charnaie Gordon and her two kids are bridging the literacy gap with their new project that brings diverse books to children in each of the 50 states.

Gordon founded the Here Wee Read platform, which highlights diversity in children’s books, featuring multiple races, cultures and religions. The curated books also teach children about important subjects such as immigration and politics.

Through “50 States 50 Books”, Gordon and her two children are sending these significant books to non-profit organizations, libraries, schools, and more, to every state in the country.

Since launching this project, Gordon shares that several people have felt inspired to help, and have bought titles from Here Wee Read’s Amazon Wish List, that includes multiple sections such as “Juneteenth Books”; “Asian Picture & Chapter Books”; and “Latino/Bilingual Picture Books”.
